It's almost automatic: Wisconsin and Greg Gard quietly become serious March Madness contenders with everyone looking elsewhere. With that said, it seems like the Badgers are heating up at the right time and despite the heartbreaking loss to Michigan, this team is looking tough.

Selection Sunday morning final seed projection for Wisconsin is no longer surprising

Matter of fact, there's no reason to believe that John Blackwell, Nick Boyd and Co. can't go on a deep run in the NCAA Tournament in the coming weeks. If you ask Seth Davis, it won't surprise him at all if things go that way.

Leading up to Selection Sunday, Davis made it quite clear that Wisconsin is going to provide several challenges to teams in the NCAA Tournament. Yup, per Davis, no one is going to want to play the Badgers in the Big Dance:

Seth Davis said no one is going to want to play Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament

"Nick Boyd with the Wisconsin Badgers, I love those go-get-you guards," Davis said. "Late in the game, late in the shot clock, all your brilliant plays and your sets haven't worked, and you say, 'young fella go get me one.' Nick Boyd is really good and playing alongside John Blackwell, those guys are arguably the best scoring guard tandem right now in the country. Nobody's going to want to face the Badgers. They're playing with supreme confidence."

Tell us how you really feel, Seth. Wisconsin is playing with a ton of confidence and the heartbreaker to Michigan doesn't change anything. It took a buzzer-beater from Yaxel Lendeborg to down UW, but keep in mind that Wisconsin beat Michigan in Ann Arbor earlier in the year.

Boyd has been sensational with the ball in his hands and Blackwell once again has been as steady as can be. With Nolan Winter, the team's best rebounder, set to return for the NCAA Tournament too, even more help is coming for Gard.

Wisconsin has what it takes to make serious noise in the Big Dance, with Blackwell and Boyd leading the charge. Soon enough, the first round of the tourney will get here and the Badgers will be ready to prove Davis right. Good luck to anyone facing this team moving forward - UW will be no easy task to go up against.
