Some Wisconsin hockey magic comes out in the Frozen Four victory over Minnesota

The Wisconsin women's hockey team is headed back to the National Championship after defeating the Minnesota Golden Gophers 6-2 for the sixth time this season. They will take on the Ohio State Buckeyes to hoist the trophy and be crowned the champions. The celebration will be momentary as Mark Johnson and his Wisconsin Badgers team will switch into preparation for the Buckeyes, the only team that was able to beat them this season.

Laila Edwards scored a hat trick to help propel Wisconsin past Minnesota in the Frozen Four

The magic for Wisconsin came off the stick of Laila Edwards, who had a hat trick in the game to not only give Wisconsin the lead but secure it with add-on goals. She also overtook Abbey Murphy of Minnesota for the national lead in goals scored. It was a double loss for Minnesota in both the game and the stats.

As the final second ticked off the clock, the Wisconsin women's hockey team stormed the ice to celebrate their Frozen Four victory and a season sweep over the Golden Gophers. Watch the video of the celebration below:

Wisconsin women's hockey will take on Ohio State for the National Championship

Wisconsin's next step is to secure another National Championship, but they will have to do it against the only team that was able to beat the Badgers this season, the Buckeyes. The Badgers will be eager to flush that bitter taste and hoist the trophy.
