There's going to be a new look for the Wisconsin Badgers offense next campaign, which we don't have to tell you is a good thing. This week alone, the Badgers and Luke Fickell have landed commitments from two different quarterbacks.

First, San Diego State transfer Danny O'Neil announced for UW. Then on Monday night, another QB picked the Badgers, with Maryland transfer Billy Edwards Jr. locking things up with Wisconsin. He did so after canceling a trip to meet with the Michigan coaches.

Edwards will arrive in Madison looking to make a splash right away. He and O'Neil will be in a battle for the QB1 job in the spring and things will likely keep going once fall camp arrives. Edwards feels like an early favorite and some of his highlights from 2024 have people talking. Take a look at this dime for example. This ball was put right on the money:

That's the kind of throw that's going to excite an entire fanbase about your arrival. This past campaign for the Terrapins, the 6-4, 220-pound Edwards tossed for 2,881 yards, 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions. That throw above came against Indiana - he had a monster game against the Hoosiers.

In a 42-28 loss for the Terps, Edwards was still superb throwing the ball all over the field. He completed 26-of-41 pass attempts for 289 yards and three touchdowns. That came against a College Football Playoff team too.

While Edwards was a bit inconsistent at times in '24, he could prove to be exactly what Fickell is needing in his next starter. Both Tyler Van Dyke and Braedyn Locke are out of town, so it will be either Edwards or O'Neil who leads the offense out onto the field come Week 1. Edwards has the experience advantage. Only time will tell if Fickell picks him or O'Neil to try and help this team get back on track.
