Vinny Anthony has to be a bit disappointed with his NFL Combine. He needed to set up a chance to rise in the NFL Scouts' eyes and show how high his ceiling is, but his results were a bit underwhelming. Now there will only be more doubters and naysayers. If there is a silver lining, it's that he has another shot coming up to improve on his NFL Combine results at the Wisconsin Pro Day.

First things first, let's look at Anthony's results and compare them to his peers in the wide receiver class. He chose not to jump in the broad jump, so there are no results there; he will save that for Wisconsin's Pro Day.

40-yard dash: 4.54
10-yard split: 1.59
Vertical jump: 34.5"

Vinny Anthony II will now need to use Wisconsin's Pro Day to elevate his results

That 4.54 40-yard dash is the one that he will be the most frustrated with. Anthony knows he can run faster than that, and yet in his two attempts, that was the best one. It puts him low on the WR list, currently the second slowest.

As for the vertical jump, he's middle of the pack, which is also not where he wants to be. Wisconsin's Pro Day will be a time he can show he's a better player. Though he will only have about one week to get there, as the Pro Day is scheduled for March 6.

He will also want to participate in the broad jump, which seems to have always been his plan.

There is one area he seemed to perform at a top level, and that was in the interviews. He had a very polished and put-together interview. Anthony had a plan to show his versatility and highlight his ability to play on both special teams and as a route runner. There was clearly a "take a shot on me, and I can play right away on special teams" idea to his dialogue.

It wasn't Anthony's day today, but Wisconsin's Pro Day will give him another chance.
