Last Sunday, the Wisconsin Badgers were one of three schools not selected by three-star cornerback Chase Geter. Geter announced his commitment to Fran Brown's Syracuse Orange via X, choosing the Orange over Wisconsin, Duke, and in-state school Virginia.

In January, Geter secured a scholarship from the Wisconsin Badgers. This month, he took an official visit to Madison, where he complemented the program on a positive culture. One week later, Geter visited Syracuse for his official visit.
While it's unfortunate that the Badgers failed to secure Geter's commitment, it's important to note that the Badgers were expected to land the star cornerback. According to On3.com, the Orange were the overwhelming favorites to land Geter. In addition, the Badgers landed speedy safety Zachary Taylor on the same day as Geter's visit to Syracuse. As of this writing, Tayloris the highest-ranked recruit of the Badgers' 2026 recruitng class.
So, where do the Badgers go from here?
First, Wisconsin must do its job and keep Djidjou Bah from de-committing to a rising SEC program. Bah is the second-highest commit in the 2026 recruiting class, but the stud defensive lineman just took an official visit not too long ago. Second, there are two additional three-star prospects the Badgers should look to lock down for commitments. One of which is another cornerback the class of 2026 needs.
Amari Latimer, a three-star running back from Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, Georgia, has the Badgers as one of his three finalsts, along with in-state schools Georgia and Georgia Tech. Latimer visited Madison back on May 30th. Jamyan Theodore, from the Baylor School in Chattanooga, has Wisconsin as one of four finalists. Theodore will announce his commitment on July 1st. Landing Theodore would be a nice offset from losing Geter to Syracuse.
However, can the Badgers pull through this summer?
