Jackson Ball has spent his entire teenage years taking over basketball games and tournaments overseas. He was a star in the New Zealand professional league before making the switch over to the Australian NBL (National Basketball League) this year. For Ball, it took him a bit to adjust to what's been called a "grown man's league." However, he won most improved honors and youth player of the year.
Recently, though, he joined New Zealand to play in an international tournament in Germany against 11 other national teams. He showed off why he's one of the best young international players, winning "All Tournament Team" selection even though New Zealand didn't advance very far.
Ball was impressive in multiple ways. Including a highlight reel poster dunk that will have you thinking about the Nick Boyd energy Wisconsin had last season.

Jackson Ball is a star in the making and he's headed to be a Wisconsin Badger next season

The stats for the tournament are tough to come by, but Ball scored 17 against Japan, 12 against China, 16 against Serbia (with 11 rebounds), and 22 against Italy. That's an impressive four-game stretch for the young point guard.
He seems to be a star in the making as he heads to Wisconsin to play for Greg Gard next season. He will most likely slide nicely into the backup point guard role behind Owen Foxwell. As he learns the ropes and gets settled into the college basketball game, he looks like he may end up being quite the force for Wisconsin.
It helps that he's been playing against "grown men" since he was about 15 years old. Ball has tons of professional experience, and yet he's still only 18 years old. As far as 18-year-olds go internationally, he's standing above the rest, and once again in a tournament featuring some of the top 18-year-olds in the world, he's receiving honors.
