Another week, another ridiculous game and more records broken for Wisconsin Badgers running back commit Kingston Allen. The 2027 back is in hot pursuit of the nation’s rushing yards record, and every week, he puts up numbers that suggest he isn’t being talked about enough by national recruiting pundits.

In his most recent game, it was another 259 yards and five touchdowns, marking the sixth time this season he has run for 250-plus yards and the eighth time he has logged five or more touchdowns. Safe to say the kid is pretty good.

Allen now sits at 2,546 yards and 48 touchdowns on the year, keeping him well on track to break his own totals from a season ago. It is worth noting that in the process of Allen being as dominant as he is, the team (Notre Dame) has been spectacular, finishing the year with a perfect 9-0 record.

As Allen remains in hot pursuit of bolstering his own record book, he also clearly has his eyes set on something he wasn’t able to achieve last year: a state championship. It’s still a long road ahead to do so, but given the track Allen is on, it’s hard to say anyone can stop him.

Record Breaker

Last season, he had games where he looked human. On three occasions, he was held to under 6 yards per carry and even had a game where he was held to under 100 yards. For 99% of running backs, that is very par for the course. But when you are the state’s all-time leader in rushing touchdowns like Allen, standards are set a bit higher.

It’s also worth noting that the state record for touchdowns he eclipsed came in just two years as the team’s starter. He scored 107 touchdowns, with 103 coming in the last 22 games of his career. No need to spell out how ridiculous that is.

As for his future with Wisconsin, fans have been given a bit of a scare recently, with Allen going on visits to Ohio State and Minnesota despite being committed to Madison. On each of those visits, he picked up offers, which threw a wrench into the stomachs of fans who are expecting Allen to be the next big thing.

That said, in order to be in the mix for guys like this, you have to be able to get your foot in the door. Sure, it’s disheartening to see his recruitment still being open, but as of now, he is still committed to Wisconsin, and until that changes, Badger fans have nothing but good times waiting ahead.
