Wisconsin has yet to lose a set to an unranked team, and as they took on their first Big Ten opponent, Rutgers, that continued. They continue to dominate on the court, and one person in particular took notice, Decelise Champion. One of the top recruits in volleyball for the 2027 class and a priority target for Wisconsin volleyball.
She was on her visit for the Wisconsin vs. Rutgers volleyball match, and while the play on the court impressed her, the fans may have done the play one better. The student section and other fans were ready for her visit with signs and cheers awaiting her. She was stunned by the love that she stopped to take pictures of the signs and the support.

Champion is a 6'3" opposite from Puerto Rico. She's been a star since coming onto the scene as a 14-year-old, playing for the Puerto Rican national team. Though she currently plays for a team in Italy as her star continues to rise.
She's considered by many to be the top prospect in the entire world out of the 2027 class. Thus, a priority target for head coach Kelly Sheffield and his team. There was a big desire that this visit would go well, and Wisconsin fans delivered.
Not only does Wisconsin have one of the best volleyball venues and fan bases in the country, but it also continues to be a top product. Currently ranked No. 7 in the country, but with most of the talent on the younger side. Sheffield is setting up the roster to be elite for years to come, and if he can continue bringing in young talent like Champion, there will be no drop-off in sight.
