During the first quarter of the Wisconsin Badgers vs. the Oregon Ducks football game, FS1 announcer Tim Brando said that Dilin Jones is out for the year due to injury. That was news to literally everyone, even Wisconsin officials who later said, "We have not ruled him out for the year." Talk about a major flub that had Wisconsin fans panicked. Oh, and he also said that Danny O'Neil is injured, which is also not true.
Despite what was said on the FS1 broadcast, RB Dilin Jones is not ruled out for the year and QB Danny O'Neil is not injured, per #Badgers spokesman.

Fox announcer Tim Brando was in error when he reported Dilin Jones would be out for the season

What a major flub up, for a guy who prides himself on professionalism. Not only to say that Jones was out for the year, but also to be wrong about Danny O'Neil. The O'Neil report always felt a bit off because O'Neil didn't even appear on the injury report. However, the confidence he spoke about Jones and the fact that Jones left midway through the Ohio State game and never returned, and was out of practice and the Oregon game today, added some credence to what he was saying.
All that said, Wisconsin fans can sigh with relief as Jones has yet to be ruled out or even have the length of his sidelining determined. It could end up being an injury that keeps him out for the year, and maybe Brando did hear that, but it wasn't wise to report it without validation from Wisconsin.
In Jones' absence, Gideon Ituka has been carrying the rock for most of the Oregon Ducks game, and he's done great. Through the first half, he carried 15 times for 65 yards. Which is great for Wisconsin, but on the other hand, the Badgers could really use a shake-up at quarterback.
If Danny O'Neil is not injured, they need to get him into the game as they are only down 7-0 at the half, and Hunter Simmons has been awful.
