Spring football is in full swing, and it serves two major purposes for Luke Fickell and his staff. The primary purpose is to get practice in ahead of the season, looking at position battles, working on drills, installing offensive and defensive plans, etc. The secondary purpose is to get recruits on campus to see what Wisconsin football is all about.

The Badgers have already locked up three recruits in the spring practice period: WR Tayshon Bardo, CB Carsen Eloms, and OLB Carmelow Reed. The plan is working, and the last couple of days have been important for one of their biggest commits, 3-star QB Travis Burgess, who holds a handful of high-major offers.

QB Travis Burgess has been on campus this week checking out Wisconsin football

Travis Burgess is a fast-rising recruit out of Loganville, Georgia. He holds over 25 offers, including North Carolina, Auburn, Arizona State, Utah, NC State, and Duke. He impressed in his junior season and should see even more attention in his senior year. Right now, he seems to be most focused on four schools: Wisconsin, Duke, North Carolina, and Auburn. Though he also took an unofficial visit to Florida State earlier this month.

According to an interview with 24/7 Sports, Burgess has been very impressed with Wisconsin and the visit is only helping, "After today, [Wisconsin] sits very high, and can’t wait to get back up here for the official visit."

The scouting report for Burgess states that he is a tall, strong-throwing quarterback at 6'5" and 200 lbs. He is a focused winner who helped lead his high school to a state title as a junior. He can move in and out of the pocket. Jeff Grimes has prioritized him for the future of Wisconsin football. He would be a big add, and it seems this visit has impressed him.
