Wisconsin had some great news from two of its top 4-star priority recruits. First, Mekhi Williams, a 4-star safety from Florida, decided to decommit from the Florida State Seminoles, and then immediately a crystal ball was put on him to Wisconsin. It wasn't long after this announcement that even better news came when 4-star WR from Chandler, Arizona, Jai Jones decided to commit to Luke Fickell and the Badgers.

Jones is a top-10 athlete in the nation and a top-5 player in Arizona. He clearly had a great time in Madison this last week as he decided to shut down his recruitment and commit to Wisconsin. He had plans to visit both Cal and Arizona, too.

Wisconsin's wide receivers coach, Ari Confesor, has landed his first big fish and one of the top wide receivers in the nation. It's a huge grab for the Wisconsin Badgers, and Jones immediately becomes one of the top recruits in the already loaded class.

The Badgers were already inside the top-20 in the nation for the 2027 recruiting class, but this jumped them a few spots up to No. 17. The classes are very fluid right now, with official visit season underway. The rankings are changing daily as recruits are committing. However, Luke Fickell has been able to retain the top-20 with eyes on an even higher ranking, with some of the other recruits narrowing their decisions.

Jones is now the first wide receiver in the class, and his play-making ability has to be making 2027 Wisconsin quarterback commit Jack Sorgi excited. The two could be a dynamic duo for a long time.

For Fickell, it's also an inroad into Arizona, which hasn't been a big recruiting playground for the Badgers but a state that produces some top playmakers. For Wisconsin, this is a good sign of things to come.
