The draft being in Wisconsin brought in many all-time great Wisconsin players to share in the historic day. It was a fairly underwhelming draft for the current stature of Wisconsin football, but the past Badgers shined bright—none brighter than the legendary running backs: Melvin Gordon, James White, Jonathan Taylor, and Montee Ball.
Those four jumped on a podcast called "Green Light with Chris Long" to share their memories of Wisconsin and the NFL. The whole podcast is a great listen, and you can find it here. However, one hilarious story from Melvin Gordon may have taken the cake. Watch the clip below.

Melvin Gordon thought he was going first overall when he got a call from a Florida number
The story he shares is incredible or maybe incredibly funny. It includes the NFL Draft, Melvin Gordon, the first overall pick, and George Rushing. He said that the draft had just started with the music and everything when he received a call from a Florida number. He couldn't believe it. Tampa Bay had the first overall pick, and the draft was just starting. He said, "Ain't no way, I'm going No. 1!"
He finally answered, only to find out it was fellow Wisconsin player George Rushing's dad on the phone. He said, "I see you on the TV, and you look good in your suit." Melvin had the whole room dying, laughing at the story. The way he tells it will have any Badger fan laughing, remembering that night, and even George Rushing.
He ended up being drafted 15th overall by the San Diego Chargers, so he didn't have to wait long. However, he said the call wasn't as sweet as he thought when the number one overall pick was on the board, and he was getting a call from Florida. That first overall pick ended up being Jameis Winston.
