Jovana Spasovski, a player who was recruited to Wisconsin by Marisa Moseley but decided to stick it out with Robin Pingeton last season, is now in the portal. Spasovski saw her role reduced under Pingeton, and after showing some promise as a freshman, but less of it as a sophomore. She's looking for a new opportunity now that the college women's basketball portal is open.

Spasovski posted on Instagram that she was grateful to the Badgers and her opportunity in Madison, but it's time to seek a new program. She wrote, "Wisconsin will always be a big and beautiful part of my experience in America."

The sophomore guard came to Wisconsin from Belgrade, Serbia, where she played club basketball for Akson Ilirija. She's 6'0 and has a lot of length as a player and should be able to find a good opportunity for basketball at a new program.

Spasovski averaged 2.0 points and 1.0 rebounds on 41.4% shooting. Most of her stats from her sophomore year are exactly the same or better than her stats from her freshman year, where she averaged 1.7 points and 1.0 rebounds. However, her minutes went down. She even had a starting opportunity in her freshman campaign against Wright State.

Last year, Spasovski averaged 8.6 minutes per game with that one start, and this year, under Pingeton, she had zero starts and only averaged 7.5 minutes. It's hard as a fan to see her increasing her role; if anything, there may have been even a reduction in it. So, it's not a stretch to think that she saw the writing on the wall, too, and decided it's time to see if another program would be a better fit.

She does get a ton of credit for sticking it out with a coaching change. Marisa Moseley's departure sent most of the players packing, but Pingeton convinced Spasovski to stick it out for at least one more year to add continuity. Now that the year is finished, Spasovski is off to find a new home.
