The No. 16 Wisconsin Badgers just took down No. 7 Purdue Boilermakers 94-84 on the road in Mackey Arena. It was a huge win for the Badgers and their second Quad 1A win of the year (Arizona being the other one). It was a statement win for Wisconsin, especially after one of their best players, Kamari McGee, was unjustifiably ejected from the game after a terrible flagrant two call.

To make matters even better, they proved ESPN Gameday wrong as they all picked against Wisconsin. No one seemed to see this win coming from the Badgers.

Wisconsin Badgers silenced ESPN Gameday crew who all picked Purdue

This may not be a surprise to many as the ESPN Gameday crew in both football and basketball tend to stick to the favorites, and Purdue was a 5.5 favorite at home. They also are ranked higher in most polls and metrics. However, what made Wisconsin fans laugh or frustrated, or maybe both, was that the ESPN Gameday crew spent time gassing up the Badgers with compliments before they ultimately went on and picked against them.

Both Jay Bilas and Seth Greenberg spent time on the set complimenting the Badgers. Bilas went first talking about Wisconsin, though he started his comments with Michigan before moving to the Badgers.

"John Tonje is having a great year, he's averaging what? 18, 19 points a game? He gets to the free-throw line like nobody's business. Wisconsin, as a team, shoots 84% from the foul line. You better not foul them because they are automatic when they get to the line. "
Jay Bilas

Seth Greenberg took it one step further when he shared his thoughts on Wisconsin.

"This is not your father's Wisconsin team. They are scoring 81 points a game. They are shooting like 43% of the shots from three. Those wings are big and athletic. That is a dangerous, dangerous team. Greg Gard, the job he does...that dude can flat coach. "
Seth Greenberg

The Wisconsin Badgers are for real, and people are starting to wake up to them across the nation. This 10-point victory over Purdue without Kamari McGee will go down in the lore of UW hoops history.
