Wisconsin offers 5-star 2027 OL: 'It's an honor to be invited to O-Line U'

Luke Fickell and his new offensive line coach, Eric Mateos, have extended a new 2027 offer to Ismael Camara, a 5-star and top 30 player in the country. It's a bit ambitious, but his response brings hope to Badger fans. He recognizes the history of Wisconsin and what it could be if the top offensive line talent came to Madison again.

Camara posted on social media after receiving the offer: "Wisconsin offensive linemen are legendary, Joe Thomas. John Moffitt. Mike Webster. Kevin Zeitler. Paul Gruber. Rob Havenstein. Terry Stieve. Founding Fathers of O-Line U. It is an honor to be invited into this elite fraternity."

Not only does he seem genuinely excited to receive his newest offer, but he names off some of the best linemen in Wisconsin history. That's pretty impressive for a young man from Texas to know these names and what they mean for Badger fans. Then his ending about being invited to "O-Line U" is next level. Real recognizes real.

Camara, a native of Gilmer, Texas, is one of the best players of any position in the country and is listed by 24/7 as the fourth-best offensive lineman in the nation. He has an incredible display of offers already in his pocket, with 34 and from the top recruiting schools in the country: Alabama, Florida, LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas Tech, and many more.

It's not going to be easy for the Badgers to bring in Camara, but starting with legends in his mind and recognizing Wisconsin as O-Line U is a great start and should put the Badgers at least on the board in consideration for the services of Camara.
