If Wisconsin football was looking for something to fire up the locker room ahead of the season-opener next week, the mission has been accomplished there. In case you missed it, the program revealed some pretty sweet throwback jerseys for everyone to enjoy.
You know who loved them? The players. Thanks to the official Wisconsin X account, we've been given a close look at the reaction from the youngsters after seeing the jerseys for the first time. To say they were overcome with joy would be an understatement. Fans appear to be split on the new-look unis, but the same can't be said for the guys inside of the locker room:

Look good, play good? That's what head man Luke Fickell is hoping will be the case for his guys this season. As everyone knows, a crucial Year 3 is on the way for Fickell and his coaching staff. After seeing a 22-year winning-season streak come to an end in 2024, there are no excuses this fall.
There are plenty of changes here for the Badgers, of course including who's going to be running the offense. Last season, Braedyn Locke took over the unit after Tyler Van Dyke went down with his torn ACL against Alabama - both players are no longer with the program.
Moving forward, it's going to be the Billy Edwards show for Wisconsin, as the veteran signal-caller transferred in from Maryland. Fickell is putting all of his trust in the QB and fans are excited to see what he's made of now that he has taken his talents to Madison.
Once next Thursday gets here, Wisconsin must be zoned in and not even think about overlooking Miami (Ohio) in a Week 1 tilt. After the disappointment the loyal Wisconsin supporters have suffered in recent seasons, it's time for this team to give those same people a reason or two to smile. So far, the new uniforms are a good start, but it's time to make sure things are improved out on the gridiron too.
