The Wisconsin Badgers had a random mention after the Arizona 'no-show' to the Michigan Wolverines. It wasn't about the fact that Wisconsin beat that Wolverine team earlier in the season in Ann Arbor. Though that part is true, and plenty of people were mentioning it. That's not quite random enough. It was the fact that this was Arizona's first wire-to-wire loss since Wisconsin beat them in 2024.

Yes, Wisconsin is the only team in the nation that can look at the Final Four matchup of Arizona vs. Michigan and say. We were the last team to beat Michigan in Ann Arbor, and we were the last team to beat Arizona wire-to-wire. It may prove something about the Badgers, whether you like it or not.

Wisconsin has the right plan but hasn't found the post-season success

The loss to High Point in the first round of the NCAA Tournament was terrible and frustrating. But that's what the NCAA Tournament does. It seems as if the Badgers are on the wrong side of that more often than not. Yet, the only team to even give Michigan a contest so far in March Madness was No. 16 Howard.

Howard was the only team this tournament to score more than 80 points on Michigan, and they had the Wolverines up against the ropes at halftime, only down four points. Michigan then steamrolled the rest of the teams to get to the National Championship.

It's okay to feel like Greg Gard hasn't had postseason success because he hasn't. But it's hard to say his plan wouldn't or doesn't work. Wisconsin was the last team to beat Arizona wire-to-wire in 2024. It was the last team to be Michigan in Ann Arbor. It has victories over two of the four Final Four teams. The Badgers had four victories over the Elite Eight field.

Wisconsin needs to somehow put it all together come tournament time, find a little of their own luck, and not let teams like High Point steal it all.
