The hits keep coming for Wisconsin and not just on the field. The top-rated Badgers recruit in the 2026 class, Amari Latimer, is now on an official visit to the Ohio State Buckeyes. Wisconsin dropped a pretty frustrating game to Michigan, and now they are in the process of losing their 4-star running back recruit.

Latimer has been on a flip watch for a while as he is tearing up in the high school ranks for his senior year, and the sharks began to circle. It doesn't help to see that Wisconsin is an absolute trainwreck right now. It may be more about when and where than if he chooses to flip.

Really, the biggest thing going for Wisconsin with Latimer is the fact that his brother, Geimere Latimer, is already on the roster. The family connection is huge, but also his brother and the other Wisconsin teammates have worked hard to make Amari feel like it's a family for him.

Amari has mentioned in recent interviews that he feels a strong connection to the Badgers. However, as he continues to allow other programs to court him and Wisconsin appears less competitive, especially on offense, this flip becomes increasingly inevitable.

Latimer has recently had Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, and Ohio State heavy on him, flipping away from the Badgers. Those teams continue to win, and the Badgers continue to lose. It's hard to imagine him staying committed to Wisconsin through this whole process, but for now, he still is in the fold, and Luke Fickell is doing his best to keep him.

It wouldn't be surprising to wonder if the Wisconsin fans wanting Luke Fickell fired and the uncertainty around the program weigh into the decision, too. Time will tell, but the signs don't look good that Latimer will stay a Badger.
