Wisconsin vs Iowa opening line is the best the Badgers will get all season

The Wisconsin Badgers may be looking at the best opening line they will get all season. They open the game against the Iowa Buckeyes as only 3.5-point underdogs. Vegas still thinks they will lose, but they haven't seen this favorable of odds since the first two games of the season against Miami (OH) and Middle Tennessee, their only two wins.

The season is headed towards the dumpster, though you could argue it's already there after UCLA won yesterday over No. 7 Penn State. There's an argument that the Badgers are the worst team in the Big Ten, at least among the bottom three with Purdue and Northwestern. It's bad, it's dire, and Iowa may present the best chance to win this season.

If they can't pull off a win at home against Iowa, there may not be a win at all on their schedule. You could make a case for Minnesota, which has looked underwhelming, and the rivalry game may bring the juice. But Iowa is the best shot. Washington beat Maryland, so probably not them either. The other four games besides Minnesota, Iowa, or Washington are all against top-20 teams, and three of them are top-10 teams.

FanDuel currently has the opening line as 3.5 and the over/under at 37.5. Vegas isn't expecting a high-scoring affair, and the final score based on this spread and the over/under is predicted to be somewhere around Iowa 20 to Wisconsin 17.

This shouldn't surprise Badger fans who watched their team punt eight times on Saturday against Michigan. Iowa had four punts of its own and three turnovers. Neither team is putting out the most impressive offense, and both teams will probably be playing backup quarterbacks. Yikes.
