Robin Pingeton has picked up her first commitment as the Wisconsin women's head basketball coach. With only six players currently listed on the roster, adding players was essential; adding quality players is even better. Pingeton seemed to do that well with the addition of Laci Steel from NC State. Steele just completed her sophomore season for the Wolfpack, appearing off the bench in every game but looking for a fit that can showcase her skills even more.

Laci Steele has committed to play for Robin Pingeton and the Wisconsin Badgers

Laci Steele is a former high school Gatorade player out of Oklahoma. The award is given to the best player in the state. She decided to take her talent initially to NC State, and in her freshman season, she appeared in all 32 games, averaging nearly 12 minutes and 3.4 points a game. However, in her sophomore campaign, she saw her role reduced to only 23 games, averaging 6.8 minutes.

Therefore, her transfer came as no surprise. When she was hoping to take a step forward, her opportunity was reduced. She's now seeking a new chance to prove herself, and Robin Pingeton seemed to have her eye on her for a while. Steele was even said to consider Missouri but ultimately chose Wisconsin and Pingeton, Mizzou's former coach.

Steele may be the first domino for Pingeton, but she will need to add many more transfers for next year's class. All indications are that Pingeton is very active in the portal right now and looking to add even some strong talent. She will need to find a way to be competitive in the Big Ten right away, as fans are already unsure how to think of Pingeton. The roster formation will be one thing, but her ability to get wins will be the important one to draw fans back into Wisconsin women's hoops.
