Running Back

Commitments

Julius Davis- Menomonee Falls, WI (Menomonee Falls)

Other current targets

None

Julius Davis will likely be the only running back Wisconsin takes in the 2019 class, but the 3-star from Menomonee Falls has the potential to become the latest in a long line of special ball carriers to wear the Cardinal and White.

Similarly to Graham Mertz, Davis’ recruitment really took off soon after announcing his pledge to Wisconsin. When he committed last November, his only other offer was from Buffalo. Soon after, blue-blood programs LSU, Notre Dame, and USC followed suit, but Davis has always held firm in his commitment to the Badgers.

He has visions of this 2019 class leading the program to new heights in the coming years by winning a national title and has been one of the most vocal members of the group, playing an active role in trying to recruit other top targets of Paul Chryst and his staff to Madison.

Davis has missed his last few games with an injury, but prior to that, he had been on a tear to start his senior season. His main strength as a runner is his physicality, but he was showing off greater explosiveness and busting some huge runs before going down with the injury.

Jonathan Taylor will be the feature back as long as he in Madison, but once he is gone Wisconsin appears set to maintain its status as a running back factory with young guys like Nakia Watson and Davis waiting in the wings.
