The Wisconsin Badgers will be going after a transfer portal quarterback, Luke Fickell has said as much. They may even swing for two, as the desire not to continue the same spiral is of the utmost importance. Here's a list of five of the best options of those quarterbacks who are currently planning to enter the portal.

It should be noted that the transfer portal doesn't officially open until January 2nd, so there will be more that come in, and none of these players are officially in until that date, but all have declared the intent to enter.

1. Colton Joseph

Colton Joseph seems to be the name that Wisconsin fans want. He's the splashy grab with an excellent last two seasons at Old Dominion. He threw for 2,624 yards with 21 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He can also run the ball like crazy and had 158 carries for 1,007 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. So, he fits a Jeff Grimes offense that loves some of those wrinkles.

2. Marcus Stokes

Stokes can be described as video game numbers in D2. He will most likely win the Harlon Hill Trophy, the D2 Heisman Trophy. He threw for 3,664 yards and 40 touchdowns, and he also could run just like Joseph, having 82 rushes for 367 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was a 4-star recruit out of high school, but a bone-headed decision three years ago sent him to D2.

3. Kenny Minchey

There's also Kenny Minchey, who, as opposed to everyone else on this list, would come in with barely any stats under his name. He was one of Notre Dame's top recruits a couple of years ago, but hasn't risen to become the starter. He's going into the portal because he wants that shot. He did play sparingly as the backup this season, going 20 for 27 for 196 yards. It has been reported that Wisconsin is interested.

4. Sam Leavitt

Then there's Sam Leavitt from Arizona State, who in the last two seasons for the Sun Devils has thrown for 4,513 yards and 34 touchdowns. He's going to be a Heisman favorite going into next season, depending on his landing spot. He can also scramble and has 816 yards in his career (over three seasons). There may not be that much interest on either side for him to come to Wisconsin. He wants to go to a CFP team, it appears, and Wisconsin may not want his extra drama.

However, since he's going to be one of the splashiest names in the portal, Wisconsin needs to check in.

5. Jaden Craig

A little bit of a dark-horse candidate for the Wisconsin quarterback job, as no one is reporting Jaden Craig as a connection, but he's also going to be one of the top quarterbacks in the portal. He's spent three years at Harvard, with the last two as the starter. He's more of a pocket passer style quarterback who threw for 2,869 yards and 25 touchdowns. He only had seven interceptions. He does run and is capable of it, but at Harvard, he did a lot more behind the scrimmage line.
