Former Badgers star safety Hunter Wohler signed his contract with the Indianapolis Colts. Last week, the Colts announced it via a social media post with the caption, "Now we work." Wohler was able to get it signed and worked out during the Colts' rookie minicamp, and now he needs to make the roster for the deal to go fully into effect. While he is projected to make the roster, even if he didn't, he would be able to keep his signing bonus. So what are those details?

How much are the Colts paying 7th round pick Hunter Wohler?

The specifics haven't been released, but it is estimated that Wohler signed for the value of his draft slot. He was drafted as the 232nd pick in the draft, and that pick's value, according to OverTheCap.com, is for 4 years and $4.33 million with a signing bonus of $131,000. His base salary in year one, according to this deal, is $840,000, going up each year after. His sophomore campaign is worth $1,005,000, followed by his third year of $1,120,000 and the final year being $1,235,000.

The Colts still don't know what position he will play at the next level. According to their draft release, he is listed as a linebacker, but then he was listed as a safety for their rookie minicamp. If he does play linebacker, it will be in a dime package. The Colts seem to be testing him at both positions, where neither has a ton of depth.

His first year in the league will most likely be spent on special teams, but it will be interesting to see how he performs in the long run as an NFL player. He never played linebacker in college, but he does have a natural nose for the ball, and his ability to wrap up tackle is already NFL-ready.
