Keontez Lewis had a career day in his Oklahoma debut. The former Badger was named a starter earlier this week in a somewhat of a surprise move, but he showed why in the game against Illinois State. He was Oklahoma's leading receiver with a huge two-touchdown day.
In one game, Lewis had nearly half his total in his two years in Wisconsin. He hauled in nine receptions for 119 yards and two touchdowns. During his whole tenure in Madison, he had a total of 21 receptions. It looks like he found his groove in Norman, and it's good news for an incredible athlete who just couldn't quite put it all together in Wisconsin.
Here's a look at his two touchdowns today:

For Lewis, the Sooners are his fourth stop in his college career. He started at UCLA, where he played in 11 games for the Bruins, but never recorded a reception, as he was mostly used on special teams. He transferred to Wisconsin, where it appeared he was on track to become a future star for the Badgers. His first season, he had 20 receptions for 313 yards and three touchdowns.
He couldn't get it going the next year and ended up transferring to LIU, where he revived his career with an impressive 49 catches, 790 yards, and five touchdowns. That has led him to where he is now, and it looks like he's become a star for the Sooners.
There is a lot of talent on the Oklahoma roster, but in one game, Lewis has risen to the top. He's shown what many thought was always possible. The former Badger is going to be special this season if he keeps this hot start going all year long.
