There are several official visitors in town for the Wisconsin football team this weekend, as head coach Luke Fickell and his staff are hoping to add some playmakers with college experience for the 2025 roster. So far, so good in those efforts.

On Friday night, former Louisville pass-rusher Mason Reiger, in Madison for his OV, took to social media to announce that he doesn't need any additional time to think about where he wants to play in '25. Nope, his mind is made up and he'll be Wisconsin-bound to make plays for the Badgers' defense:

Former Louisville pass-rusher Mason Reiger has committed to Wisconsin

Reiger is transfer commit No. 1 for '25 and he surely won't be the last. Reiger first signed with Louisville in 2021, making an impact for three campaigns. In 2023, he had his best year yet, finishing with 22 total tackles and five sacks in 10 games.

Unfortunately, he wasn't able to put the pads on in 2024 due to issues from knee surgery. He has been working his tail off in his rehab and he'll now look to make a big impact for Wisconsin from the moment he gets to town.

The team's official 2025 schedule just came out and to put things simply, it's not going to be easy for UW, as plenty of fans are worried another 5-7 or 6-6 campaign could be on the way. That would spell disaster for Fickell, but with the right help on both sides of the ball via the portal, it will be quite beneficial for everyone.

The addition of Reiger to the defense is an exciting one and things are going to be made even better for the Badgers if Fickell lands his starting QB this weekend - will it be Danny O'Neil or Billy Edwards Jr. to commit? We'll find out soon, but we know for sure that Reiger is happy to be on board with Wisconsin and he'll be fired up to impress during spring ball.
