Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers have long been after Brody Pfannenstiel from Texas Tech, but the latest Brendan Sorsby drama now adds a new wrinkle. There's a lot to unpack here, but let's start with the fact that Pfannenstiel recently came off a visit with Wisconsin without much fanfare or even really a social media presence. He came in basically saying that Wisconsin should have to convince him not to be a Red Raider.
The day that the Sorbsy news came out and schools were saying they were putting Tech on a ban, the Big 12 is talking about their own suspension, the NCAA is appealing the court's decision, and all sorts of other drama, this is the day Pfannenstiel decided to post his photos of his visit to Wisconsin. It could be a coincidence, it could be already destined to be, but if you are a recruit headed to Texas Tech and you have another option, you should take it.
Had a great time on my Wisconsin OV! Thank you for the great experience. @CoachFick @Coach_Mitch_ @CoachMikeTress @JaredThompsonUW pic.twitter.com/Lzs3TsHQhm

As a refresher, if you are new to the world of college football or you just landed back on earth after a trip around the sun. Brendan Sorsby is a high-profile quarterback for Texas Tech who was busted for sports gambling, which is already a no-no, but it was found out that he was betting on his own games when he was at Indiana. That's a lifetime ban based on the rulebook for the NCAA. However, just like everything in college football right now, Sorsby found a judge who would give him a nice ruling.
He was slapped with a two-game ban and told to continue rehab for gambling addictions, and that was it. The college football world went up in flames. Schools like Nebraska are saying they will now refuse to play Texas Tech in ANY sport. This wasn't the only school to give a similar declaration; even some Big 12 schools are weighing that idea. It's a mess.
Wisconsin has been silent on the matter, maybe because the school currently doesn't have an athletic director, or maybe because they just want to keep their head down right now. Or even because Fickell sees an opportunity to complete a flip he's been working on for a while. Who wouldn't pitch to Pfannenstiel that he can get away from the mess of Texas Tech? Don't touch all that with a 10-foot pole; come on over to Wisconsin.

Pfannenstiel last week, before his visit, was saying that he was solid to Texas Tech but was going to give Wisconsin one final chance. It seemed as if that chance didn't go all that well until he posted on social media yesterday. Is a flip on the way? There very well could be; it was already a possibility, but it seems like the drama may now actually play a part. That's pure speculation, but if Wisconsin is offering a similar package... drama-free, he should take it.
