Luke Fickell is on the verge of landing another important 2028 Wisconsin recruit

Luke Fickell is already looking to add the second recruit of the 2028 recruiting class. Nick Osen of 24/7 Sports has put in a crystal ball for offensive lineman Brock Barrows to land at Wisconsin. When Osen puts a prediction into the database, you pay attention, as he's a perfect 125 out of 125 in his crystal balls. This is about as close to a lock as you can get in the recruiting world, which is as unpredictable as possible.

Barrows is a priority recruit who is currently unranked but a player that offensive line coach Eric Mateos identified as a player he wanted to be a Badger. Mateos is on to something, as programs have been jumping more and more into the recruitment of the young 6'2, 277-pound lineman. Barrows has seven offers from Arkansas, Iowa State, Minnesota, Tennessee, Purdue, Northwestern, and Wisconsin

Barrows is a legit prospect, and it's only a matter of time before he's ranked by 24/7 Sports. He's considered a 3-star recruit by On3. As a freshman, he was part of the FBU Freshman All-American Bowl. Then, as a sophomore, he was a left tackle for his high school, Lee's Summit West in Missouri. This season, as a junior, is when the star will rise, and the recruiting world will wake up more to who he is as a player. Hopefully, by then, the Badgers will already have him in the fold.

In June, Barrows told Evan Flood of On3 that Wisconsin was "definitely the team to surpass right now." And it appears now, towards the end of July, the Badgers are still the team on top and may be able to land Barrows before even facing off against Notre Dame in Week 1.

If Barrows does commit to the Badgers in the coming days, he would already be the second commitment in the 2028 class. Luke Fickell has already added 4-star linebacker Cale Britt from Orlando, Florida. It's really rare to get this sort of a hot start in a recruiting class that hasn't even hit the junior year of high school. Even with one player in the class right now, the Badgers are listed as No. 12 in the nation for 2028.

Fickell isn't going to let the momentum slow down from his hot 2027 class. Even without wins on the field, Wisconsin was able to compile a top-25 recruiting class, and the incoming players are eager to help the Badgers to find success again.

Getting Barrows would also signal to Wisconsin fans that Wisconsin will continue to prioritize offensive linemen and making sure the trenches are secure. Having one linebacker and one lineman in the class would be quite the Badger start in 2028.
