Luke Fickell is on a bit of a heater this season in the 2027 recruiting class and, in one day, landed two recruits from the same state. First, Wisconsin picked up 4-star wide receiver Jai Jones from Chandler, Arizona. Now, it's 3-star LB Nathan Jones from Desert Edge, Arizona. Wisconsin hasn't been overly known for pulling recruits out of the desert, but in one day, Fickell grabs two.

Both are big additions, too, and bring something special to the 2027 recruiting class. You can read more about Jai Jones by clicking this link. Below, let's look into Nathan Jones.

Nathan Jones is a bit more unheralded in comparison to the other Jones (Jai). Nathan is only a 3-star composite recruit. Yet, that may be underselling him a bit as he's been surging in the recruiting world lately. He's picked up a handful of offers in the last year and now holds 15 total, including from Arizona, Baylor, Florida State, Kansas State, and North Carolina.

His stats are impressive from last season, where he recorded 84 total tackles with 23.5 for loss and 11.5 sacks. Jones knows how to get into the backfield and cause havoc, and his frame is already impressive at 6'3 and 230 pounds.

He told Nick Osen that it was conversations with Mason Posa and Cooper Catalano that helped him make the decision to be a Badger. "Those guys kind of really sealed it for me and helped open my eyes."

Fickell has a great linebacker recruiting pitch now with Posa and Catalano. If you prove you are a stud, even as a freshman, you'll get opportunities. While those two sophomores may now present a bit of a logjam in terms of immediate playing time, they also showcase a pathway and development process at Wisconsin that helps linebackers shine.

Fickell scored big this weekend with two commitments, both from Arizona. There are also a few more that could be committing soon after a big weekend in Madison.
