The Wisconsin Badgers just landed 4-star Mekhi Williams, who now holds the top spot in an already impressive recruiting class. He passes up Korz Loken, Cole Reiter, and Kingston Allen as the top-rated player in the 2027 recruiting class. That's saying something because those three players are elite. In the process of Luke Fickell convincing Williams to become a Badger, Wisconsin has now reached unprecedented heights in the recruiting rankings.
The 2027 class is now ranked top-15 in 24/7 Sports and No. 23 in On3.com's rankings. According to 24/7 Sports national recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins, "This could be the highest recruiting class [for Wisconsin] in the 24/7 Sports ranking era." This is a big deal.

Who knows where Wisconsin will ultimately end up in the final rankings for 2027, but they've done a better job this year than they ever have under Luke Fickell. Arguably, maybe ever. Not only has Fickell been able to get all the top players in Wisconsin, but he's also been able to get other top recruits around the country to fill in the rest of the class, including Williams.
The Badgers now have seven 4-star recruits (based on composite rankings), and the rest of their current class of 17 are 3-stars. This is an incredible haul for Fickell and his team, already, and yet they aren't done yet.
There are six players coming in for official visits this weekend, seven next weekend, and two more filling in the gaps. These are simply the known recruits, and there may be more that are added to this number. Of course, Wisconsin won't land every recruit that visits or is scheduled to visit, but it shows that Fickell isn't content to sit on his hands. He's got more players to fill out this amazing class.
Fickell added four new players from last weekend's official visits, what's he got in store for week two?
