The Wisconsin Badgers have had three of their own invited to join an NFL Rookie Minicamp, giving them another chance to make an NFL roster. This time, it's Elijah Hills who has been invited to come to San Francisco and showcase what he can do at the NFL level. He joins Jaheim Thomas, who was invited to a Carolina Panthers Rookie Minicamp, and John Pius, who has the same opportunity but for the Cleveland Browns.

Wisconsin DL Elijah Hills invited to the San Francisco 49ers Rookie Minicamp

Elijah Hills is a relative newcomer to Wisconsin, having come out of the FCS level as a transfer for his final season of eligibility. He played for three years at Albany, totaling 74 tackles and 5.5 sacks. He is known for being a big run-stuffing defensive lineman who can shed a block to make the tackle. He came to Wisconsin and continued to perform at the high major level.

Hills, as a senior for Wisconsin, had 26 tackles and three sacks. He was impressive making the jump and continued to put up similar, if not better, numbers. The NFL sees that and is wondering if Hills will make the jump again and continue to rise to the occasion.

He's known for his tenacious work ethic and desire to prove himself on every rep and every down. He has a constant motor and a strong desire to win every snap. That sort of drive is what could tip the scales in Hills' favor, as he will work to showcase his full potential. So whether he makes the 49ers roster or he has to fight for another opportunity, that's what he will do.

The Wisconsin Badgers now have eight players who have the opportunity to make an NFL roster. There were two draft picks: Hunter Wohler and Jack Nelson. Three UDFA signings: Joe Huber, RJ Delancy, and Bryson Green, and now these three invites to camps. On Wisconsin!
