Recent postseason awards have not been favorable to Wisconsin Badgers’ star point guard Nick Boyd. Boyd was recently left off the Big Ten First Team All-Big Ten list despite defeating the majority of these players in head-to-head competition. On Tuesday, Boyd was once again slighted when his name was left off of all Associated Press All-American teams.

While Boyd may be creating a list of those who snubbed him, there is one college sports writer who did take note of his play in recent games. According to Jamie Shaw of Rivals.com, Boyd is among the top two transfers in college basketball. The only player higher than him is Yaxel Lendeborg.

Rivals’ Jamie Shaw ranked Nick Boyd ahead of Bennett Stirtz in most impactful transfer list.

Shaw’s final power ranking for impactful transfers placed Boyd second, just behind Big Ten Player of the Year Yaxel Lendeborg and ahead of All-Big Ten point guard Bennett Stirtz. But why is Stirtz relevant here?

Because Stirtz was named Honorable Mention All-American, while Boyd averaged approximately as many points per game (20.6) as Stirtz (20.0) this season.

Here is what Shaw had to say about Boyd:

"The San Diego State transfer led the 24-10 Wisconsin team in points and assists this season earning second-team All-Big Ten honors along the way. He was No. 11 nationally in Offensive Win Shares (4.2) while finishing second in the conference in Usage Percentage (30.5). Boyd is No. 8 in the Big Ten in Player Efficiency Rating (24,6) and No. 9 in Offensive Box Plus/Minus (7.6)."

Boyd, who has embraced the role of villain this postseason, has already started keeping receipts. The veteran point guard has seen his name skipped over some postseason awards and is determined to prove those doubters wrong. One of those who saw how impactful Boyd was this season was Jamie Shaw. It’s about time we start giving Boyd some more notoriety from a national perspective.
