The new EA college football game is rapidly approaching with a release date of July 19th. Ahead of its release, 247Sports previewed the top 25 rated teams and listed the rating of big-time players on each roster. The 18th ranked Badgers have at least seven players rated at an 83 or higher. Let's get into the ratings.
Tyler Van Dyke - 83 Overall
The Badgers' projected starting quarterback earns at 83 overall, which is almost identical to our prediction a few months ago. The Miami transfer will come into the season with something to prove after a rough finish in 2023. It will be interesting to see how his 83 compares to the rest of the Big Ten.
Chez Mellusi - 84 Overall
The new starter at running back for the Badgers this year earns an 84 overall. Mellusi showed a lot of promise last year before a brutal injury. This rating could quickly climb if he comes anywhere close to his 6.0 yards per carry of 2023.
Will Pauling - 86 Overall
One of the best slot receivers in the Big Ten and maybe the country, Pauling earns an 86 rating. His breakout season in 2023 put him on the map and he has a chance to break Badger records in 2024.
Jack Nelson - 87 Overall
One of two tackles to make this list, Nelson earns an 87 overall. One of the three leaders chosen to attend Big Ten Media Days, Nelson has seen his stock rise this summer and needs a great 2024 to help his NFL Draft prospects.
Riley Mahlman - 87 Overall
The second tackle also listed at an 87 overall, Mahlman is an athletic freak. After a so-so 2023, Mahlman will look to establish himself as one of the best tackles in the Big Ten.
Hunter Wohler - 90 Overall
Wohler's rating was released as part of the Top 100 players earlier this week. A team leader and an All-Big Ten safety, Wohler is a beast in every sense of the word.
Ricardo Hallman Jr. - 91 Overall
The highest rated Badger, Hallman Jr. put the conference on notice with his seven interceptions. He's a top 10 rated cornerback in the country.
