The Wisconsin Badgers have one of the top recruiting classes in the country. It's been the talk of the town and the talk of Badger Nation. It's a huge step in the right direction for a program that needs as many right steps as possible. The goal for Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell will be to retain all of the commits and get each and every one of them to National Signing Day.
There was already some early drama with this class after one of the fastest-rising edge recruits in the country, Yahzeen Zion, committed to Wisconsin but decided to still head to LSU for a visit. The intel out of Baton Rouge seemed to indicate there was a chance Zion could flip. However, it seems as if he's silenced those rumors with his latest social media post.
Zion knows there's talk about the flip and decided to post a graphic of him suited up in his Wisconsin uniform with the words "Jump Around '27." He then posted the phrase "let's do it" with two badger emojis. Sure, it doesn't say "I'm not flipping," but it basically does.

4-star Yahzeen Zion is a prized recruit because of his incredibly high ceiling

Zion is one of those players who didn't play football his whole childhood. He played basketball and decided to get into football later. He then showed his athleticism and knack for the sport immediately. His high school football coach told Badger Observer, “He was more of a basketball kid, so his recruiting kind of started late. But Yahzeen to me, is the most talented interior defensive lineman I’ve ever seen at the high school level in Arizona in person, whether playing for us or anybody else,”
Which is why Zion narrowed his list to an impressive five. It was LSU, Oklahoma, Miami, Wisconsin, and Florida. He could literally play anywhere, and he went from being unranked to a 3-star to a 4-star in the blink of an eye. Getting offers from the top programs in the country. So, when Wisconsin was not only able to get a visit but then secure his commitment, it felt like a big deal.
He was immediately circled, though, by Badger fans as one to keep an eye on for a flip. Because he's the perfect prototype for players that typically get stolen from Wisconsin. A late-bloomer that was discovered or at least heavily pursued by Wisconsin, only for a program with deeper pockets to come in late and steal. This is exactly what it felt like was happening when LSU still got the visit.
However, Zion's visit to LSU came and went, and the commitment to Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers stayed true. His post all but silences the worries. Sure, there's still a long time until December, and who knows what will happen between now and then, but you have to celebrate wins as they come, and this is a big one.
