Robin Pingeton has added her second commitment via the transfer portal after only being on the job for a few weeks. This time, she's added a 6'3 forward in Gift Uchenna from Southern Illinois. Uchenna was a hot name in the portal as she was extremely impressive at Southern Illinois. She averaged 14.5 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game. She is a force on both the defensive and offensive ends of the court.

Gift Uchenna has decided to commit to Robin Pingeton out of the transfer portal
Gift Uchenna is a huge addition to the depleted Badgers. Last season, she was second in the nation with rebounds per game at 12.8, behind Aneesah Morrow from LSU at 13.5. She was among the leaders in both offensive and defensive rebounding. She's strong, she's tall, and she isn't scared to get up and pull down a board or block a shot, which she was 25th in the nation in that category.
To put this in perspective, Serah Williams was 29th in the nation in rebounds per game and 15th in blocks per game. Williams put up those numbers in the Big Ten, while Uchenna had those stats in the Missouri Valley Conference, so it won't be a 1-1 correlation. Either way, Uchenna has proven she can play at a higher level, and she will immediately help Wisconsin.
Uchenna joins Laci Steele as the other transfer into the program. Steele is transferring in from NC State and measures at 5'11". Both players will add needed height and length to the Badgers.
Pingeton isn't done yet. She only has a roster of 8 players right now (counting Uchenna, Steele, and even walk-ons), and that's nowhere near enough players to compete at any level, much less the Big Ten. She will still need to add a few starter-caliber players to the mix.
