Robin Pingeton is cooking in the portal bringing home an in-state 4-star guard

Wow this roster is looking more and more loaded for the Badgers.

Robin Pingeton has struck again, two huge additions in one day and three in the week. This time, it's 6'1 guard Teagan Mallegni who is transferring from Iowa. Mallegni is a former 4-star prospect from McFarland, Wisconsin. She's yet to really crack the rotation fully in Iowa and is now following Iowa teammate Addie Deal to Madison. Or for Mallegni, back home.

Mallegni has a ton of upside and will get a lot more run at Wisconsin under Pingeton than she would have gotten as a junior in Iowa. This move makes a ton of sense for her, and the Badgers have a real chance to unlock her ability that made her a 4-star recruit two years ago.

Pingeton is absolutely cooking so far this offseason. She's landed a 6'3 forward from LIU, Kadidia Toure. This is a great replacement after Gift Uchenna ran out of eligibility. Then Pingeton added former 5-star McDonald's All-American Addie Deal. One of the top players in the recruiting class last season.

Pingeton wasn't done, as she picked up international guard Alicia Courthiau from Belgium. She's a high-scoring player who averaged over 14 points a game in the international circuit. Now adding Mallegni feels like a sweep. Yet, there's still a point guard need and maybe one more depth piece. However, as of now, you can successfully say that Wisconsin could have one of the best basketball teams they've ever had. At least on paper.

Mallegni brings a natural scoring ability, even though it was never really seen in Iowa. Her minutes were much too limited. She only averaged 5.5 minutes per game last year for the Hawkeyes. Though she had one memorable game last season, it was against Wisconsin. She had 10 points, four assists, two rebounds, and two steals. Now, Pingeton decided to test that ability by bringing her to Madison.
