NFL teams have been hosting their OTAs (Organized Team Activities), and former Badgers around the league are getting ready for the season. The Indianapolis Colts drafted former Badger star Hunter Wohler in the seventh round of the most recent NFL Draft. He could play linebacker or safety—he's been listed as both at times—so it will be interesting to see what his official position is when camp breaks.
However, that's not the story. The story is that Wohler continues to be a role model and a person that kids love to look up to. After one of the OTAs, Wohler, and teammates Kenny Moore and Justin Walley all played some version of flag football with kids. Watch the video below; Hunter is at the bottom of the video, mostly cheering his team on and celebrating with the kids.
Hunter Wohler is taking part in the OTAs for the Indianapolis Colts and continues to be a role model
Hunter Wohler is an amazing football player, but he's also an amazing human being. He's known for being in the community and helping out. He doesn't avoid fans and he isn't too big for hanging out with the kids. This was his personality and reputation in Wisconsin, and it's super cool to see that continue for the Indianapolis Colts.
He jumped into a kid's flag football game with a few teammates. He didn't need to be the star; he just had fun with them and celebrated their success as his team eventually scored a touchdown. Though it's hard to tell what style of football they are playing as there are both backward and forward passes, the kids seem to be having a blast, and they are doing it with NFL players that they look up to.
Wohler has always represented Wisconsin well and he continues to do so in the NFL.
