Where the Badgers' 2026 class stands after a productive weekend

Wisconsin football hosted a huge recruiting event this past weekend in Madison and is already starting to see some great results. On Sunday, three recruits committed to the Badgers on what turned out to be a huge day for Luke Fickell and Wisconsin. Defensive linemen Arthur Scott, Djidjou Bah and linebacker Ben Wenzel all committed after their visits.

Before this past weekend, Wisconsin only had seven commitments, and none from the home state of Wisconsin. Now, the total number is up to 10, and Wenzel is the first local commitment of the class. So where does the class stand in the national rankings after a busy week?

According to 247Sports, Wisconsin now has the 31st ranked class in the country, and the tenth overall class in the Big Ten so far for 2026. Luke Fickell's first true class in 2024 was the 23rd ranked, and the 2025 class sits at 27th, and he's now on a good pace to have another top 30 recruiting class in the nation.

Wisconsin on pace for another top class despite slow results

While the top recruiting classes have yet to translate to success on the field, another top class will help to revive a program that has fallen on some hard times over the last few seasons with Fickell at the helm. The Badgers will face a grueling schedule in 2025, and nothing will come easy in a crucial year for Wisconsin.

This past weekend has already yielded some positive results and hopefully the committments don't stop there. Wisconsin is still pushing hard for some top-tier players, including four-star running back Amari Latimer.
