The Wisconsin Badgers were able to pick up two new commitments over the weekend. The first official visit weekends have always gone really well for Luke Fickell's staff. Every year, there's momentum after officials kick off. This year was no exception as both 4-star WR Jai Jones and 3-star LB Nathan Jones chose to be Badgers.

It's still early, so this is more of an update than either a prediction or a final standings. It also should be noted that Fickell isn't the only head coach who received commitments this weekend. However, the Badgers definitely have a nice surge going for 2027.

With that momentum barreling down the line, where does Wisconsin fall in the team 2027 class recruiting rankings?

On3 - No. 25

On3 is a bit more down on the Badgers than other sites. The Rivals/On3 database has Wisconsin with six 4-stars and nine 3-stars. However, Luke Fickell is keeping interesting company in who surrounds the Badgers. Alabama is at No. 24, Auburn is at No. 23, Georgia is at No. 22, and you'll find the Washington Huskies at No. 21. Those schools are all known for their top-10 recruiting classes.

Like it was mentioned earlier, it's still early but Fickell is ahead of pace and among some of the elite programs in high school recruiting.

24/7 - No. 18

24/7 Sports is a bit more bullish on the Badgers and likes what is happening for Luke Fickell, giving him a top-20 class. However, it should be mentioned that 24/7 Sports will often bump recruiting classes up purely on volume. A good example of this is the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Minnesota is No. 12 in 24/7 Sports ranking (26 on On3), but almost entirely due to having 25 recruits in the class, even though most are 3-stars or less.

So, the Badgers have a top-20 class with 24/7 with four 4-stars, and 11 3-stars. There's still more work to do, and Luke Fickell isn't even close to done yet. This is a great start and a good sign of how things are improving.

There's finally some money flowing into recruiting, and Fickell is putting it to work. For reference, Wisconsin finished at No. 78 in composite rankings for the 2026 class.
