This week's news is mostly focused on the various scheduling events and the big news about John Blackwell foregoing the NBA Draft and staying with Wisconsin. There are some good links below, including one that will give you the details of the HOF inductees for UW.
Oklahoma hoops exhibition game set for Milwaukee
The Badgers and the Sooners have decided to square off in a preseason exhibition basketball game. The game will be played at Firserv Forum, the home of the Milwaukee Bucks, on Friday, October 24, 2025. It will be a great time to see two NCAA Tournament-hopeful teams see where they sit before the season begins. The Badgers get to play host by being in Milwaukee.
BYU - home and home neutral splits for basketball
The other scheduling nugget that came up for Wisconsin basketball is that the Badgers will split neutrals with BYU. It's a bit confusing, but it's set up like a home-and-home series but at neutral sites near the homes of each program. Wisconsin will start by heading to Salt Lake City, and then BYU will come to Milwaukee. It caused consternation at first for Badger fans before they found out the Cougars would return to Milwaukee the following year.
Schedule and times are out for non-conference football games
There are a couple of links that need to be shared when it comes to the football scheduling. The Badgers have a really strange start to the season when they take on Miami (OH). That is not cool. The other is being the early slate feature game for the ESPN network during week three when Wisconsin takes on Alabama.
John Blackwell forgoes the NBA Draft
The biggest news of the week concerns John Blackwell's return to Wisconsin and departure from the NBA Draft. While that was assumed, he waited until the final day to make that decision, much to the relief of Badger fans.
Wisconsin adds a new class of HOF members with some notable names
Finally, the Badgers have inducted a whole new slate of former players into the UW Hall of Fame. The list and details of each inductee are on the Wisconsin website here.
