While the school year is over for the Wisconsin Badgers there is still plenty of news especially in the pro world. As multiple players have made their way into the NFL. This news roundup features both a player that struggled in their first rookie minicamp and another who signed their rookie contract after being a seventh round pick. Let's start with our friend RJ Delancy.
RJ Delancy III was cut by the New York Giants after rookie minicamp
Former Badger defensive back RJ Delancy III was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent (UDFA) after the NFL draft ended. However, after the rookie minicamp, the New York Giants cut Delancy and signed a different defensive back. Read more about that here.
Delancy will begin looking for another roster to tryout for but that may not come until the end of the summer.
Hunter Wohler signed his rookie contract with the Indianapolis Colts
The Colts agreed to terms with Hunter Wohler on his rookie contract for the estimated value attached to his 232nd overall pick. The pick value is estimated at $4.33 million for four years. He will make progressively more in each year of his deal. The first step for Wohler, though, is to make the team in the preseason of the 2025 season. He projects as a depth piece that will spend lots of time on the special teams in his first season. Read more about his contract here.
Finally, let's turn our attention to future Badgers instead of former Badgers.
