There are only a few players that Wisconsin fans would absolutely hate to see jump into the portal when it opens in January. At the top of the list has to be Mason Posa, the star true freshman linebacker. He came to Wisconsin as a 4-star recruit with high potential and immediately earned his chances and took advantage, becoming the top tackler for the Badgers this season.

Today, he posted on Instagram that he's not going anywhere. He has no plans to transfer and will "Run it back."

This is big news for the Badgers as they want to build around true freshman Mason Posa. There is real excitement about what he will bring next season and beyond to the Badgers. He also continues to show that Wisconsin is LBU, as he was designated one of the top true freshmen in the country.

The Badgers found a gem in Posa, who became one of the best defensive players all season and started earning more snaps as the season went on. He, alongside fellow true freshman linebacker Cooper Catalano, was the two bright spots in a dark season.

Catalano was the second leading tackler for the Badgers at 56 total tackles. These two are true freshmen and will be training, working, and developing all offseason to have huge sophomore seasons.

Wisconsin writer Dillon Graff may have said it best, "Mason Posa and CooperCatalano aren’t just young guys getting reps. They look like the future. Flat out studs. In a season that’s been flat-out brutal, they’re the proof Wisconsin still has something worth investing in."

While Catalano hasn't said anything, there's not much worry yet either as he seems to be settling into Wisconsin and happy to be a tandem with Posa.
