Sam Dekker is a Wisconsin Badgers legend. He is still beloved by fans and loyal to Wisconsin. The Badgers defeated the Minnesota Golden Gophers earlier this week at Williams Arena, aka "The Barn," 74-67. There was a pivotal moment in the game when Jack Janicki flew across the court to tip a ball out to keep the possession alive. The tip went to John Blackwell, who took it to the hole and was fouled with an "and-1."

That play sparked chanting from Wisconsin fans. "Let's Go, Badgers!" could be heard on the TV; it was so loud. This is a rival's home game. As the chants continued and the Badgers took a bigger lead, Minnesota fans took to the exits.

Sam Dekker posts on social media that playing at Minnesota and Northwestern felt like home games

To add insult to injury, Dekker weighed in on the chanting and posted a message online that reads, "Badger Hoops at Minnesota and Northwestern always felt like home games." Amazing. Hats off to Badger fans who travel in for the game or live in the Twin Cities and make sure they drown out the Minnesota faithful. However, I do wonder if Northwestern fans are like, "Hey! Why'd you drag us into this?"

However, Wisconsin fans typically travel well to (or also live and work around) Chicago (Evanston). This is a testament to the power of a good fanbase, and when a program is winning, it makes it a whole lot more fun.

Sam Dekker was already a legend, but his continued poking fun at and roasting of rivals long after he graduated make him even more of a legend to Wisconsin fans.

The Wisconsin Badgers have one more regular season game left. At home in the Kohl Center, they take on the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday, March 8, at noon CT.
