One of the most coveted running back targets in the 2026 class, Amari Latimer, has narrowed his list of 50+ offers to six choices: Texas, Tennessee, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin. That's a pretty impressive list of big-time players in the recruiting and college football world. However, Wisconsin may hold an advantage that the other teams just cannot match. The Badgers have Amari's brother Geimere Latimer II on their roster.

His younger brother happens to be a top target for UW in the class of 2026.

Geimere Latimer II is the brother to top Wisconsin 2026 recruit Amari Latimer
The brothers have discussed reuniting and playing together again, just as they did in high school. Geimere told 247 Sports Evan Flood, "I'd love to team up with my brother again." Which is certainly one of the major reasons Amari is considering the Badgers. However, it won't be the only factor in this huge decision.
Latimer is a 4-star product from Georgia, holding offers from all over the country, and is listed as the 18th best running back in the 2026 class. Wisconsin has been interested in nabbing the elite prospect since October 19, 2023 when they first issued an offer to him.
The Badgers were also very interested in bringing in Geimere Latimer II out of the transfer portal this last offseason. He was a 2-star recruit out of high school and decided to play at Jacksonville State. After two years there, he jumped in the portal and was listed as one of the top cornerbacks in the portal. Wisconsin was able to bring him in and immediately give him a spot, and most likely, he will be one of the starters, as he has impressed in spring practices.
Will having Geimere be enough to get Amari to commit to play for the Badgers? It may not be as he could be deciding soon, and he hasn't taken his official visit yet (scheduled for the end of May), but it doesn't hurt and could end up being the deciding factor.
