The Wisconsin Badgers are working on pivoting to Big Ten play, hosting Maryland, and are focused on rebounding from a frustrating loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide. There are some interesting nuggets this week that maybe you've missed. Here are a few things that flew under the radar but are important Badger news.

Camp Randall is down in attendance in 2025

The Wisconsin State Journal ran a report that has some tidbits on how Wisconsin football is not drawing as many to Camp Randall as in years past. The overall problem is reflective of the product that Luke Fickell has put on the field in the last few seasons. To bring people back to the games, it will take winning. You can read all about that here.

Badgers doing a takeover of the NFL

Former Badgers lead three different categories in the NFL through week 2. Russell Wilson is the passing leader with 618 yards. Jonathan Taylor is the rushing yards leader with 236 yards, and Jake Ferguson is leading all tight ends in receptions.

Think about that for a minute. Former Wisconsin players are leading the NFL from the quarterback position, the running back position, and the tight end position. Not to mention, they have some top talent in OLB and along the offensive lines. Feels good to be proud about how the former Badgers are doing.

Luke Fickell is pursuing a UCLA recruit who has decommitted

Maybe you didn't know this, but Bruins head coach DeShaun Foster has been fired by UCLA. This not only opens up a transfer portal window for the current players, but many of their top recruits are jumping ship.

Yahya Gaad, a 3-star defensive line recruit, visited Wisconsin back in May. There was hope that Fickell would pursue him again. He's now posted on X, indicating either a visit or a potential flip. Wisconsin needs to scoop him up.
