The season is fast approaching, and the countdown is now about two weeks. While many Badger fans are distracted by the way the Milwaukee Brewers are playing, there's still some joy in their hearts for Wisconsin football to return.
The news in this has some NFL, some women's basketball recruiting nuggets, and even how Paul Haynes tells us a bit about the cornerback depth he's planning to deploy. Let's jump in.
Joe Huber dominated in week 1 of the preseason and fans are loving it
Joe Huber being the best thing about football in Minnesota is about as perfect as it gets. Read about how he was the top-rated undrafted rookie in all of the NFL preseason in week one. There are even some clips in that article that show how impressive he was.
There's also another article that shows how Minnesota Vikings fans are falling in love with him, to the point where they're even suggesting they could trade away their $88 million guard. It's good stuff. Read that one here.
Women's Basketball added the best player in the state of Wisconsin
Adaline Sheplee, the best player in the 2026 recruiting class in Wisconsin, committed to the Badgers. Not only did she commit, but two other top in-state recruits celebrated the fact, one saying, "Wisconsin's best all coming together." And another saying, "can't wait to play with you."
This is a huge win for Robin Pingeton and one that helped endear her to the fanbase. Without even playing a game, she's already picking up wins.
Paul Haynes reveals the cornerback depth chart for the Badgers
Cornerback coach Paul Haynes talked about his plans for Geimere Latimer and even how reps will be split with the boundary corner. This basically revealed the depth chart, or at least how he sees it right now. That's important news as they still wait for news about Nyzier Fourqurean and his eligibility appeal. He won't see resolution for at least a few weeks into the season.
