Wisconsin has completed the flip of 3-star edge Brody Pfannenstiel from Texas Tech. Luke Fickell has been after Pfannenstiel for some time, but the commitment to the Red Raiders remained strong. While Pfannenstiel was willing to come on an official visit to Wisconsin, he was staying committed to Texas Tech.

Before his visit, he said he wanted to give the Badgers a real chance to flip him, but he assumed his visit would only solidify his commitment to Texas Tech. However, Madison and Wisconsin blew him away. He then went on his Texas Tech visit with Wisconsin in the back of his mind. He couldn't shake the Badgers and left his Red Raider visit ready to become a Badger.

Pfannenstiel is now the second priority recruit that Fickell and the Badgers have been able to flip in this recruiting cycle. Both were considered must-have additions by the Badger coaching staff. Wisconsin got 4-star safety Mekhi Williams flipped from Florida State after his visit to Madison, and now Pfannenstiel has done the same.

It's wild to think that just days ago, Pfannenstiel was on his visit to Texas Tech and posting videos of himself riding around in a 4-wheeler. However, it was that visit that helped him realize he'd rather play for Wisconsin. It was the relationships he made with the coaching staff that helped seal the deal. He told Nick Osen, "Building a connection with [Wisconsin coach] Matt Mitchell over time, he helped build that connection, and is a great dude."

Pfannenstiel is the No. 2 player in the state of Kansas according to Rivals and No. 4 according to 24/7 Sports. He's a multi-sport athlete who does track as well as basketball. He's got great athleticism and is known for his quick movement at the line, to get into the backfield and put pressure on the quarterback. As a sophomore, he had 51 tackles, nine tackles for loss, and six sacks.

For Wisconsin, that keeps the momentum going for the already impressive recruiting class. The Badgers now have 23 commitments in the fold and are most likely done in this part of the cycle. There are three edge players in the class with Isaac Miller, Darin Graham, and now Pfannenstiel.

This class is remarkable as Wisconsin has basically landed every single player they have prioritized. Pfannenstiel was one of those and was likely a miss until things quickly changed over the last two weeks. Fickell closed the deal while Pfannenstiel was on a Texas Tech visit.

They have been hovering around a top-15 class, but it's been going back and forth as other programs have continued to add players too. Before Pfannenstiel was added, 24/7 Sports had the Badgers as a No. 18 class. Pfannenstiel may push them a little closer to 15. Either way, it's a home run of a recruiting class for the Badgers and Luke Fickell.
