The football season is knocking on the door as fall camp has ended, and Wisconsin football will now begin practicing in Madison. The NFL is also into its first preseason games, so a lot is going on around the world of football. Let's dive right into all that's going on.
Badgers in the NFL - Preseason Week 1
The biggest news for Badgers in the NFL is how impressive seventh-round pick Hunter Wohler was in the first preseason game for the Colts. He was flying all over the field and raked up an impressive nine tackles. Colts fans are already talking about how he could be a massive steal for them.
There's also the roster churn updates that affected both Quintez Cephus and Tanner Mordecai.
Russell Wilson may have competition with Jaxson Dart sooner than expected after Dart's opening game in the preseason. He looked sharp, and Giants fans are starting to get excited (maybe prematurely).
Xavier Lucas Update
Most Wisconsin fans are tired of this one, but it's relevant to the Badgers and really to the larger discussion of college football and tampering. The newest update is about how Miami is filing a suit to dismiss the legal action by Wisconsin. It's a bit back and forth, and the courts will have to figure it all out.
Fall Camp Injuries
It seems as if the Badgers made it out of fall camp with only two minor injuries. Jack Renfro is missing time but may not miss a game. That's excellent news for the starting Badger center. Christian Alliegro was also seen as nursing a day-to-day injury. It was minor enough that he jumped back in the next day.
That's great news for the Badgers who were able to stay healthy, for the most part, all through camp.
There are other fall camp updates but let's stick with that in this post.
